About

Robert Nesta Marley was a Jamaican singer, songwriter and guitarist born in Nine Mile in 1945. He is the most influential artist in reggae history and a universal cultural icon. With Bob Marley and The Wailers, he created classics like 'No Woman, No Cry', 'Redemption Song', 'One Love', 'Buffalo Soldier' and 'Three Little Birds'. His music fused reggae with messages of peace, resistance and Rastafari spirituality. He passed away in 1981 at age 36. His legacy transcends music: a global symbol of freedom, social justice and Caribbean culture.
