Carlos Alberto Garcia, known as Charly Garcia, is an Argentinian musician, singer-songwriter and producer born in Buenos Aires in 1951. He is considered the supreme genius of Argentinian rock and one of the most important figures in Ibero-American music. He led foundational bands: Sui Generis (acoustic rock, 1972), La Maquina de Hacer Pajaros (symphonic rock, 1976) and Seru Giran (symphonic-pop rock, 1978). His solo career includes masterpieces like 'Clics Modernos' (1983), 'Piano Bar' (1984) and 'La Hija de la Lagrima' (1994). His eccentricities (jumping from a 9th-floor pool) are as legendary as his music. Over 50 years into his career, he remains the most respected artist in Argentinian rock.
