Ramon Luis Ayala Rodriguez, known as Daddy Yankee, is a Puerto Rican singer-rapper born in Rio Piedras in 1977. He is 'El Big Boss' and the artist who has done the most to globalize reggaeton. 'Gasolina' (2004) brought reggaeton to the global mainstream. 'Despacito' (with Luis Fonsi, 2017) became the first Spanish-language song to reach Billboard #1 since 'Macarena'. His farewell tour 'La Ultima Vuelta' (2022) was a historic event. He officially retired in 2022, leaving a legacy as the most influential artist in reggaeton.
