Acerca de

Honoré de Balzac fue un novelista y dramaturgo francés, representante de la llamada novela realista del siglo XIX. Trabajador infatigable, elaboró una obra monumental, La comedia humana, ciclo coherente de varias decenas de novelas cuyo objetivo era describir de modo casi exhaustivo la sociedad francesa postnapoleónica de su tiempo para, según su famosa frase, hacerle «la competencia al registro civil». Es considerada generalmente como su magnum opus.
