Dimmu Borgir

Dimmu Borgir es una banda noruega de black metal sinfónico, fundada en 1993 por Ian Kenneth Åkesson (Tjodalv), Stian Thoresen (Shagrath) y Sven Atle Kopperud (Silenoz) en la ciudad de Oslo. Estos dos últimos han sido los únicos miembros estables desde entonces. El nombre "Dimmu Borgir" proviene de dimmuborgir, que significa "Ciudades Oscuras" en islandés, también es un conjunto de cuevas formadas por la lava en Islandia que según los noruegos son la entrada al averno infernal.
