Eric Allan Dolphy, Jr., flautista, clarinetista (bajo) y saxofonista (alto) estadounidense de jazz. Aunque con aproximaciones exitosas al bop, su ámbito estilístico es el de la vanguardia jazzística en general, incluido el free jazz. Es un solista exuberante y un músico permeable a la utilización de sonidos no convencionales en sus interpretaciones. Dolphy fue el primer flautista en desvincularse del bop e introdujo y desarrolló el uso del clarinete bajo en el mundo del jazz como instrumento de solista.
