Selena Gomez & the Scene fue una banda de pop-rock estadounidense integrada por Selena Gomez (voz), Greg Garman (batería), Joey Clement (bajo), Dane Forrest (teclados) y Drew Taubenfeld (guitarra). Gomez, quien anteriormente trabajaba para Disney cantando en diversas bandas sonoras de series originales del canal, fundó la banda hacia 2009 y firmó contrato con Hollywood Records. No deseaba ser cantante en solitario y quería que el proyecto se llamase «The Scene», pero como el nombre habría resultado confuso para su joven audiencia, quienes la conocían por su nombre y por protagonizar Wizards of Waverly Place, finalmente decidieron unir ambos nombres.
