The Kinks fue una banda inglesa de rock formada en 1963 en Muswell Hill, al norte de Londres, por los hermanos Ray y Dave Davies, considerada una de las bandas de rock más influyentes de la década de 1960. Surgió durante el apogeo del R&B británico y el Merseybeat, y fueron brevemente parte de la invasión británica de los Estados Unidos hasta su prohibición de giras en 1965. Su tercer sencillo "You Really Got Me", escrito por Ray Davies, se convirtió en un éxito internacional, encabezó las listas en el Reino Unido y alcanzó el Top 10 en los Estados Unidos.
