Gorillaz is a British virtual musical project created in 1998 by musician Damon Albarn and graphic artist Jamie Hewlett. The band is composed of four fictional animated characters: 2-D, Murdoc Niccals, Noodle and Russel Hobbs. Their album 'Demon Days' (2005) sold over 8 million copies and included the hit single 'Feel Good Inc.', a Grammy winner. Pioneers in fusing alternative rock, hip hop, electronic and pop, they also revolutionized the concept of a virtual band.
